How Chalice Lighter Grants are awarded...
The Heartland Extension Committee screens each Chalice Lighter grant application to ensure that its project fits the program guidelines. From qualifying applications, the Committee chooses the most promising one or (sometimes) two for inclusion in a Chalice Lighter "Call" which is conducted three times each year in January, April, and October.
How to apply for a Chalice Lighter Grant...
If your congregation meets the criterion in either the Developing/Emerging or Member application guidelines, begin with the Intent to Apply followed by the Grant Application. Please adhere to the submission dates shown on the Intent to Apply.

Chalice Lighters are committed UUs who are willing to give a helping hand by pledging specific contributions to foster new congregations and help district congregations grow and flourish. All qualifying member congregations are eligible to apply for a Chalice Lighter grant.
You can become a Chalice Lighter by submitting a completed Chalice Lighter pledge form either electronically online or by mailing to:

100% of
all donations go toward the qualifying grant application. Donor giving statements will be provided by January 30 each year for the previous tax year.
Make a Chalice Lighter Donation...
Pledges may be paid in three installments when the "call" is received (by letter or email) in January, April or October; or once annually at anytime during the year, but no later than December 31 for any given year.
