The Heartland District’s mission is to help congregations always do better what it is they want to do, to grow health in our UU congregations, and to help grow Unitarian Universalism in the heartland so that more and more people will find their religious home.

After serving as interim district executive from 2005-2007, the Rev. Dr. Lisa Presley rejoined the Heartland District in July 2009 as its new settled District Executive.

Lisa helps congregations sort out their futures by looking at mission, vision, lay leader development, membership, and conflict issues, to name a few. She also is the administrator for the district overseeing the consultant program and helping create other programming opportunities.

Nancy Combs-Morgan joined the district staff in July 2003 as Program Consultant.  From 2007-2009, she served as Acting District Executive.  As Faith Development Director, Nancy works closely with directors of religious education and youth advisors in the district.

Barbara Hamilton has been the District Administrator since 2002.  Barbara manages the day-to-day operations of the district office, functions as webmaster, maintains the district directory and financial records.

As Administrative Assistant, Colleen Kelly, maintains a 7,000+ membership database for the district.  Colleen's background as an IP specialist helps keep the district office operating in the 21st Century.

Colleen has worked in a part-time capacity since July 2008.
